Speedy Gonzales is a cartoon character in the Looney Tunes series of cartoons. He is known as "The Fastest Mouse in all Mexico".
Speedy Gonzales first appeared in the 1953 cartoon "Cat-Tails for Two". Although not resembling the later, more popular version, he was voiced by Mel Blanc.
The character gained popularity and his iconic design in the 1955 cartoon "Speedy Gonzales," directed by Friz Freleng. Here, he was portrayed as a hero outsmarting Sylvester the Cat.
Speedy Gonzales remains a recurring character in Looney Tunes cartoons, often depicted helping other mice in need with his incredible speed.
